A European Gathering for Inclusion: Autism-Europe’s Multiplier Event in Brussels
On November 3, 2024, Autism-Europe hosted a successful Multiplier Event in Brussels, Belgium, at Comet Meetings Louise, bringing together 27 representatives from autism associations, professionals, and service providers across 13 countries. The event was part of the Autism Includi Erasmus+ project, focusing on enhancing inclusion and accessibility for autistic students in digital learning environments.
The event featured a rich and impactful agenda. Professor Nikolaos Fachantidis from the University of Macedonia presented the core rationale and innovations of the project, including its integration into higher education. Autism-Europe’s team introduced project milestones and policy recommendations aligned with the EU Digital Education Action Plan, while also showcasing cross-project synergies, such as with the Autism Spectrum Pathways initiative supporting autistic jobseekers.
With strong international participation—from countries like Finland, Ireland, Spain, Turkey, and the UK—the event encouraged dialogue across borders. Participants engaged in discussions about inclusion in both education and employment, examined the usability of the eLearning platform, and exchanged experiences about supporting autistic individuals in diverse contexts.
Autism-Europe’s Brussels Multiplier Event not only disseminated key outcomes of the Autism Includi project but also strengthened European collaboration, reinforcing a shared commitment to inclusive education and lifelong learning for all.
